Materials, techniques and processing.

1. This material here is called graphite, its a type of minerel similiar to lead, but not to get mixed up with lead. A graphite pencil can be very useful in doing art work, and gives alot off good effects.
It would be very unsafe to try to eat this material and it would make you quite ill.
I used it to create shadows and good effects in my drawings, i found it very effective and it worked well.




2. This is a paintbrush which is used in doing art, creating paintings.
If your paintbrush happens to break by any chance, be careful you do not get splinters from the wood, just get rid off it.
I didnt find it very useful, because i didnt use it that much but it can be very effective.

3. Paper is essentially made from trees, and is a resource you shouldnt waste, paper is a blank canvas in which anything in your mind can come true, you can draw, sketch, paint or doodle, the possibilities are endless.
I used paper for every piece of physical work, and ofcourse it is useful and very effective.
You want to makesure you dont slide the paper along your skin as this will cause paper cuts which are painful.

4. This is a pen, which i would use for taking notes mainly and the odd piece of written work.
This can come in handy sometimes when you want to just note a few things on to a pad of paper or something.
You should be careful not to stab the tip of the pen into yourself or anyone else or even try to eat it as you could get ink poisioning.

5. Pencil's have many different uses in the world of art, you can use them to write or draw works of art and they are very good for drawing shadows.
I found the pencil really useful as i used it for a lot of sketching and drawing and also taking notes.
The same as the pen you do not want to stab this into yourself or others because you could get lead poisoning.

6. This is a rubber and its main use is to rub out mistakes in a piece of art work or a written piece of work so you can correct yourself without looking messy.
I found it useful when i got something wrong i was able to rub out my mistakes.
There is really no risks of harming yourself or others using a rubber.

7. Steel ruler is good for making accurate measurments and to have a reliable ruler that wont break.
I found it useful for making accurate squares, underlining and making straight lines.
It could be dangerous if you swing it around or throw it, the corners are pretty sharp so beware.

8. Scissors are normally used for cutting paper, but they can be used for much more you can trim edges of work pieces or cut of news paper pieces to make a coulage.
I mainly used them for coulages, and sometimes cutting up pieces of paper for my work.
They can be very dangerous, you must be careful when your cutting not to cut yourself or people around you and always hand them to people by the handle and not the blade.

9. Stencils can be used for alot of things, you can get cool drawings and stencil them for the patterns or the letters.
I didnt really use any stencils with any of my work, but i did use things similiar to stencils in a sense.
I dont see how they can be dangerous, theres a very low risk.




10. Plain rulers are useful for simple measuring and drawing straight lines. I used the ruler a few times and it was pretty useful in helping me do my work with more acuuracey.
It could be dangerous if you throw it at people if it hit them in the eye it could hurt alot.

11. This technique is called tweening, its a method on adobe flash in which you can use it to animate any picture on screen, you can even make short films by using this.
I have found using Motion tween, Shape tween and classic tween very very helpful through out my time in the course. I have done alot of work on adobe flash and i have become very fimilair with the method of tweening and animating.


12. Oil pastels are very effctive in bringing work to life and giving it more colour, they can be used for doing a range of different art work.
I used them in a few pieces of work to bring out the colour and make my work stand out more, they are very useful and very effective.
I wouldnt advise putting them in your mouth as it would probably make you feel ill.

13. This is a technique on photoshop called fading and you can use it to make effects on pictures stand out and look really cool.
I used this in a few pieces of work such as my tutorial where i had to make a women sat on a bench fade into the scenery and also with the background.

14. Stamps are very similiar to stencils in the fact that it sort of creates the image for you, with a stamp you can use them and put them together to make a full picture. You can also use stamps in photoshop aswell as on paper to create a piece of art and bring images together.
I did use a vary off stamps in some pieces of my work on photoshop and found it a very effective way to do my work and make it look good.

15. Fabric can be used in a many various ways, you can make things out of it and you can use it to make collauges in your work.
i used it to make a few collauges in some pieces of my work, it was very effective and did bring my work more to life and more colourful and rough looking.



16.  Wood is a very good material to use as a texture, it makes ur work look very neat and more realistic.
i used this material as a texture in some of my pieces of work to do with photoshop, i found it very effective and and easy to use as a good texture, and also easy to find plenty of images to make into textures.
